Sick Day

I kept Callie home from school sick today. Her first week of school and already a sick day :( he just has a little cold but I am mostly concerned about being sure she gets the rest she needs to be well before her big birthday party. I also had a dr appt at 1 pm and if she went to school she wouldn't get a nap til 2 which is really late. So I kept her home. In the morning I kept her quiet, snuggled, watched tv, a steamy bath and had an early nap. After lunch we went to my dr appt. Callie did really well considering she got really scared last time. I am officially 37 weeks, and 2-3 cm dilated. The doctor is sure I'll make it til next week especially considering my history. This is identical to
last time at 37 weeks but last time everyone panicked that Callie was arriving immediately. I am even cleared to jump in the jumper as long as I take it easy! So I'm ready to party!
The afternoon ended up being a fun time considering it was a sick day. First we had chocolate covered everything as a snack. We tried every fruit we had in the house dipped in chcolate which resulted in this mess.
Then we spent some time in the front yard practicing egg hunting, walking the dogs and hugging trees. Don't ask about the trees, Callie came up with that on her own.
Then she wanted a picnic snack in the lawn, so we did that too. I'm just glad she enjoys the new front lawn and we can spend some more time outside. We are still waiting for the backyard to grow in more before we play on it.
And last but certainly not least we went to the mall to see the Easter bunny. Callie has been complaining he didn't get to hug the Easter bunny at school so we saw the mall bunt. It was an awesome set up but photos were $25 for just the one photo print. So I just asked if she could sit on his lap and hug him with no photos and they said sure for free! So no photos bc they wouldn't let me take any but at least she got to hug the bunny like she wanted. Then we went in Target to buy cake mix for her special no egg birthday cake. I let her pick the frosting :) and she wore her Easter bunny ears the whole time.
