Crazy hair

I don't see Callie much after work but we had crazy hair all night from bathtime to bedtime. We made a curled Mohawk with shampoo and then it was crazy curly after.
She is really getting mobile in her crib now. Grandma Nena said she rolled over several times during her nap and just wanted to play. Tonight she crawled across the crib 4 times in less than 15 minutes before she fell asleep. We had to keep going up there and reposition her at the back again. She finally fell asleep but after all that thrashing around she will have even crazier hair.
Oh and one cute one Jeana took today while she was over playing with her.

More rolls

Callie is figuring out how to roll over pretty quickly. It's much easier for her in her bed. Now you might ask why easier in her bed? Being the good therapist I am, I know it's because that's when she has her head down. When she is alert and awake she has her head up and looking and it's hard to roll like that unless you fall over your shoulder which is a big bang to your head. Today when she woke up from her nap, I found her like this, rolled over to her back with her arm out one of the rails. Earlier when I put her down she crawled across the whole crib until her head was hitting the bars. She an move enough to get herself in awkward and bad places but not good enough to get where she wants and then she gets frustrated and cries for help. I think she will master this skill pretty quickly as she seems very determined.

Delayed 3 month photos

I didnt take Callie's photo on her 3 month bday with her sticker and then forgot when we got back to CA. So today I finally got around to it, 3 months 1 week, close enough.
Also she got some cute new hats from Tia Norma so we thought we would try those out. Tia needs to start making bigger hats because Callie barely fits in these! She is just so cute and much easier to take photos of now she can sit up in her bumbo seat, except her thighs are so big it's tight already.
Anyways here she is my cutie pie. Thanks to Tia Norma for the hats.

Accidental Roll Over

Callie is just starting to roll. She can roll from her back to her side but that's about it. Today when she was on her tummy she rolled all the way to her back. It was clearly accidental as she scared herself with the sudden roll. I cheered hooray and clapped and she smiled and became less scared. Callie is getting strong and learning fast so I don't think it will be long before she can roll over purposefully.
Here's a bunch of photos to make up for nothing yesterday. She was asleep by 6:30 so I had about 45 min with her between work and bed.

Bye bye colic, Hello bedtime

I think I can officially state that Callie has gotten over her colic. It's been about a week with no hysterical crying fits, literally zero! She still cries but only if she needs something, no crying uncontrollably without being able to be consoled. Callie is a much happier baby and I am a way happier mommy too! I attribute some of this to her getting older but some also to our new sleep routine. She sleeps at night more and also takes naps during the day. Last night she went to bed at 7 and slept this morning until 9:30 am! We did get up 4 times for eating but it's still a success to me. We will work on longer periods at night without eating but this is a HUGE improvement for now.
The new bedtime routine is 4 B's; bath, book, boob, bed. Usually when we put her to bed she cries for 10 minutes, but tonight she didn't cry at all! She just fell asleep as soon as I put her down. Bedtime is 7 pm. This leaves me enough time to eat, clean up and relax a few minutes before getting ready for the next day.
Here is Callie after her bath tonight. I think this is her favorite part of the routine. She splashes and kicks and laughs in the water.
Lots of smiles from me :) I am enjoying my happy baby!

CT photos

Here are the last of the photos from CT from my camera. Lots of family love in these ones. Miss you all already!

Sleepy Bedtime Routine

Callie has a new bedtime sleep routine ad it has been working really well. We put her to sleep right when we see we getting sleepy before she has a meltdown. We are trying for a short bath, book reading, then feeding right before bed. We put her down to sleep turn on the sound machine and walk away. She usually cries for 10 min but then falls fast asleep for the rest of the night (except getting up to eat a few times).
So 2 nights in a row I got her to bed early. Last night 7 pm and the night before 5:30 ( I think she hadn't adjusted to west coast time yet). You would think with all this new free time I have I would be blogging more, but that's not the case because I have been exhausted too so I went to bed at 8 pm 2 nights in a row! I have to say its a welcome change to the previous schedule where we walked around like zombies and listened to her scream like we were torturing her for 3 hours.
The bad news is that by the time we get out of work and pick her up it's immediately bed time so we don't get to spend much time with her but I think it's still for the best. We will have to make the most of our other free time. Luckily for me that's 4 free days with her, but poor Juan only gets the weekend.
So no photos from yesterday because she went to sleep right away! I'll try to snap a few tonight.

Lots of Photos

Here are more photos from CT now I finally took them off of my camera.  Callie has a LOT of love back east!

Professional Photo Preview

We received previews of the professional photos we Took last week! Here Callie is in all her glory. I really like the ones with all 4 generations (GaGa, GiGi, me and Callie).

Callie back in Cali

We made it back home this morning. It was a long plane ride. Callie behaved for the most part but didn't sleep much compared to the ride out and her typical sleep patterns. The dogs were excited to see her and licked her a bunch.
She has been fussy today probably because we woke her up so early and she didn't get enough sleep. She already had her bath and I am trying to get her to bed now since its after 8 on the east coast and she has not adjusted back yet. So far it's not working and she seems overtired, so it may be a bad night.
Here is a photo of Callie in the ergo waiting in the long security line at the airport with her hand on her face. I felt the same way.
And here is a photo of her tonight happy to be home.
