Callie and the duck

Callie asked me to take this photo of her today. I tell her she is an odd duck and she loves this duck stuffed animal.

More big girl bed and swimming

Today we did a little more work inCallies room finishing up the cleaning, organizing and putting up her name and Frozen poster. She sure loves this bed and has figured it out. She goes up and down the ladder and up and down the slide! Papa rique came back and installed her hammock swing under the loft to make it even cooler!
And we spent half the day swimming with our friends Isla and Lily. Callie loves the water! Summertime fun is in full swing :)

Callies new big girl bed

Callie's crib/toddler bed is officially gone as of today and she has her new big girl bed!
This was a big undertaking and even though Juan and I started this a week ago I couldn't have finished it all without Enrique. That or it wouldn't be half as nice.
Callie loves it and it's pretty awesome already even though it's still not completely done. It's a full size loft bed complete with ladder and slide! And the bedding is all Frozen themed. She loves it!!

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day to all the great dads I know! An extra special shout out to the daddy to my two kids. They sure an be a roller coaster with I don't want you daddy and then 10 min later crying I want daddy but they we all love you soooo big, as Callie would say. I only took one photo of Diego playing with the giant dad balloon but here are some favorites of all the dads, papa, grandpas, etc that we are thankful for :)

Callies new mattress

Late last night I videoed Callie singing and dancing to Let it Go. She's really been on a Frozen kick lately. She cracks me up.
So today we took her to Disney store to spend her last gift card. She picked out a frozen pajama set with tutu, a frozen water bottle and a frozen bag, all for $25! It was a good sale!
And today we bought her a big girl mattress, full size! I am working on a new bed which I am making. Callie has had help with the design and I think it's going to be pretty awesome, but so far we only bought the mattress. The kids think it's awesome just on the floor and spent hours playing on the mattress on the floor. In the next week or two I'll be working on the bed so don't be surprised if you don't see a lot of posts... I'm busy working ;)

???

How about this chaos? Two kids driving one vehicle... There is a reason I don't have more photos or a video.

Teamwork

Here's a little video of what my afternoons are like...
Notice Callie say she is dizzy and the house is wiggly after all her dancing. I find this adorable. Then notice D gets mad when she takes things away from him. Gone are the days where he just let her snatch his toys.. I'm trying to teach teamwork and playing together. This time went better the most.
Also Callie learned to Sommersault and wanted to video it.

Looking for lemons

Tonight I took the kids around the block and Callie wanted to pick a lemon. Luckily our neighbor is pretty nice about it and doesn't mind if she takes a few. Here she is running off with her lemon!

Home again

We made it home! I know you are probably wondering what happened to me.... My phone took a minor splash and was out of commission during a drying period. But don't worry it's good as new and I still have lots of photos:)
So here's what you are going to see:
1. Buddy the pony again, this time at Peggy's house and driving in a carriage. This is the first time I have ever actually driven a cart and it was fun since Callie and I could go together and I even got GiJu in on the fun. Callie got PaPa Ed to pretend he was a horse too!
2. Dinosaur Park- we didn't actually look at the dinosaurs or explore much of the park. The kids just loved the water park splash pad and we didn't do anything else besides that. They had the most fun here and I can say this was the highlight of the trip. The kids were just in love with playing on the water. It was great as they had all different things for kids of all ages. Diego was a trooper and wasn't afraid to get wet at all, sprayed in the face and all!
3. Parachute play with Kim. Kim drove down from NH to see us for just one day and brought lots of fun toys for Callie. She loved doing the parachute with everyone.
4. Ice cream at Buttonwood on our way to the airport. Mmmmm both kids and especially me loved it!
5. Videos! I have quite a few videos of events too including an older one of Diego dancing.
We had so much fun in CT visiting family and friends and just enjoying life. I won't lie it isn't easy to travel and squeeze all these things in with such a short time. Traveling home was pretty terrible with two overtired kids who didn't want to sleep and there was a lot of crying on the plane. Until the kids can be a little better at traveling we won't be planning another cross country adventure anytime soon. But we open our door to anyone from back east that wants to come and visit us! Today we are catching up on sleep and getting back to our routine before tomorrow's work and school.

Amos Lake

It was finally a warm day in CT. We took the kids to Amos Lake to swim. I've been coming to this lake "beach" since I just learned to swim and somewhere have photos of me and my friends swimming I this exact spot. The kids loved it. Diego wanted to be in the water every second. Callie and I swam out to the buoys and back. Papa Ed even caught a fish in the little kids nets. They played in the sand and had a great time with Gabriella.
Before the beach trip we made a quick outing to the organic farm to get milk and eggs and Callie got to see the cows, chickens and ducks. It wasn't as fun as the beach but a good distraction while we waited for D to wake up to go to the beach.
Tonight GiJ had both kids with Marge and Jon while we went to the casino with my uncles and grandparents. Nobody left a real winner but we sure had fun. I have more photos from Marge and Jons visit but not on my phone so I'll save those for tomorrow.
