6 Weeks Old

Callie is 6 weeks old today! Last night we had a major breakthrough. She didn't have a screaming meltdown in the evening. She was fussy but able to be settled and sleeping at 10:30. Callie also slept in her bassinet right at the side of our bed until almost 6 am, 7 hours! She was up to eat but I was able to put her back to sleep in her bassinet. It might seem like a basic thing but for the past 5 weeks I have been sleeping with her right next to me in our bed. She also is usually up in the middle of the night and difficult to get back to sleep.
I am not sure what brought on this little miracle but I am hoping it continues forward and she can sleep by herself every night. As much as I love snuggling the peanut, she is safer in her own bed and needs to learn to sleep by herself so we don't have a toddler still sleeping with us. Not to mention all the hard work I put into we nursery she hasn't used.
She is getting big fast and wearing 3 month old clothes for the past 2 weeks. Her big feet fill out the whole foot portion of the footies already. By the time she is 3 months she will never fit her foot in them!
6 weeks has gone by fast. It's been the hardest 6 weeks straight of my life but also the most rewarding. I've learned a lot about myself and my baby and still have so much more to learn. She challenges me everyday with her changing needs and desires. Guess thats par for the course for my daughter :) stubborn and difficult like her mom.
I'm bummed that it's time for me to return to work on Tuesday but still glad I chose to spread out my leave so I can spend more time with her throughout the first year of her life.
This week she also got to spend time with her grandparents and sadly they go back to CT tomorrow. We will miss them a lot until July when we head to their house.
6 weeks down and lots more adventures to come. I'll keep trying to post daily but the 3 work days a week might get skipped, sorry.
