First jeans

Callie wore her first real pair of jeans this weekend. This outfit was a birthday gift from Adrian and Julie. It's is soo cute! She looked so grown up in real clothes. I was all proud of her and then I realized that she can't really walk in jeans. She had trouble walking, if she fell she couldn't stand back up and she just looked awkward. So she only wore the pants for 15 minutes, but I took a bunch of cute photos in the meantime. I swapped these out for fake stretch jeans after and she was back to running around like usual.

Cooking at Ikea

Jorge officially moved out on Thursday. So Juan and I are living alone in our house for the first time ever! Pretty crazy huh?

Our company left today so now the house seems a lot more empty with no visitors and no roommate.

Our next extra empty room is going to be Callie's playroom and the hall bathroom will exonerate her new bath.

I am planning on making Callie a custom play kitchen this month when my parents come. GiGi is excited to help plan and make the final product. In preparation we have been collecting items we think we need. Today we went to Ikea and bought some felt food sets and a small play pan set. Callie was thrilled with the play kitchen they had out. She loves being at ikea. She claims on all the beds and jumps around and plays with all the toys. The kids area is specifically great because it has whole kids rooms set up for samples that she just loves to play in. She liked the play kitchen here. Juan suggested I just buy that one as she likes it and its already done. Of course I cannot settle for some pre made not so great kitchen. Nope, I have bigger plans :)

Lounging

Today without fail Callie's little self alarm clock woke up at 5:55 am. I had a feeling late bedtime didn't mean sleeping in. When she got up she was a little lazy though and watched cartoons for 15 min or so in her beanbag chair. Just loungin....with her baby. So funny!

Today Nicky came down and we went shopping for Callie's flower girl dress as she is going to be in Nicky's wedding! We are so excited!

We picked out an adorable dress. Callie was a typical girl loving all the dresses and when we dressed her up in the fitting room she even twirled around in the mirror. I wish I had that on tape. I didn't take any photos because you have to wait for the real deal....August 31st.

Nicky was also awesome and babysat Callie tonight so we could go out for dinner and a movie. Thanks Nick, hope you and Callie had fun.

Staying up late!

Callie got to stay up late tonight. We went out for dinner to Bluewater after work. The line was really long so it took much longer than expected.  Callie was really quite good waiting, having some veggie snacks before a late dinner. She did make a mess but she was behaved the whole time even on the car ride home was giggly. It's nice to see that she can now be a little more flexible with her bedtime. We knew she might be up late so we had grandma put her down for a late afternoon nap which helps ;)

Happy 4th of July!!

Happy Fourth of July! We had a nice day off enjoying time with our friends and family. Juan's friends Matt and Stephanie came to visit from Vegas. We also got to see Tammy, Jason, and Kaitlyn. Callie and Kaitlyn had fun playing together. At one point Kaitlyn was crawling and Callie tried to sit on her, like she was a ride on toy. Oh Callie! She doesn't spend a lot of time with other kids so she isn't the best at interacting with other kids appropriately. Kaitlyn goes to daycare so she wasn't phased by Callie and her roughness. Someone gave Callie this adorable outfit on her birthday. I cant remember who, but thanks to whoever it was. It fit perfectly and was so cute! I figured it was time to get some new family photos and a few with my nice camera. I used to take photos once a month but since she turned 1 I haven't even used my dslr camera. So today I broke it out. Hope you enjoy the photos and that you all had a good day off. Unfortunately I have to work all day tomorrow :(

Second new chair

I know Callie just got a new princess chair but it just wasn't very comfortable for her. It was overfull and firm and even after I removed some stuffing she still couldn't really sit on it comfortably or lounge back how she watches cartoons and videos. So today at Target we were in the kids chair aisle and saw all the neat chairs. Callie played Goldilocks until she found one that was just right.....

This one is comfy not just for her but I like it too! I couldn't resist bringing it home for her. I was glad I did because she loves it. She read books in it, played with toys in it, and watched movies on my phone. What an awesome new chair!

Also we had a picnic lunch at the oil change shop as I needed my oil changed and figured we could multitask.

GiGi's book

Callie has a grandma book that GiGi reads to her on. It's a hallmark book that prerecords the pages so when you turn the pages you hear what is prerecorded. GiGi read the book to Callie back in March when we were visiting and she plays with it at home quite a bit. Juan took this video of her this weekend while I was gone. He was trying to get her doing no more monkeys jumping on the bed but instead he caught her kissing the photo of all of us at the aquarium, and she also blows a kiss and waves buy bye to GiGi when the book is over. So cute! She loves this photo of us from the aquarium and looks at it a lot. Totally worth it even if it was overpriced! We miss you GiGi and Pa.
