Christmas Eve

We decided not to tell Callie about Christmas eve. She knows Christmas is this week but in an effort to avoid the waking at all hours of the night from way too much excitement we didn't tell her when Santa is coming. Instead it will just be a fabulous surprise when she does wake up, which will still likely be very early. Hopefully this works out. It's probably the only chance we have to get away with something like this as by next year she will be smarter than us and know when Christmas is on a calendar.
Either way everything is all set and ready for her for tomorrow. We had a great dinner and visit at Grandma and Grandpas today. Diego even cooperated so we could stay until after 7 with minimal crying. All I want for Christmas is a kid who learns to sleep through the night. I'll be working on that soon but for now I'll settle for my family. Here's some great photos of everyone from today, and more coming tomorrow from Jeanas camera. Sleep tight while Santa and his reindeer make their rounds...

In the spirit

I finished nearly all the wrapping and building of the toys for Christmas today. Now we just have a few final touches tomorrow. Callie is sure in the spirit... Check her out.

Sharing is so tough

These photos are from the weekend. Today there are no photos as last night Callie was super sick and kept throwing up in her bed. We ended up washing her whole bed, gave her a bath, dried her hair, etc only for her to repeat the throwing up event again. Juan got the second round all by himself and stayed home with both kids today, yikes. Then tonight we were building Callie's big Christmas present as we still have more things to build! Being Santa is tough!
Anyways, Diego is finally playing with some toys and so some of Callie's old toys are becoming toys for D to play with. Well Callie isn't taking that so well. There was not a lot of sharing going on with the toy train set and then there was crying over her wanting to ride the car instead of the fire truck. Sometimes in her jealous rage she also starts in a Whitney baby voice and even goo gaa baby talk. Ugh it drives me crazy. I try to just ignore her but it sure is hard. Hopefully the new Chritsmas presents will mean she lets him have a little more play time.
Oh and Elfie found a new spot.. Here she is with a Santa card in Callie's stocking, he he.

D finally adjusting to eating

It's been months of feeding Diego solids that he has struggled. I think he is finally getting the hang of it though. And he's taking a daily laxative so that seems to be helping him a lot with the solids as well.
He loves feeding himself puffs and his new favorite thing is teething crackers made of rice. I also finally bought a cup he will drink some water out of whil he is eating. He likes to eat when everyone else is eating ;)
This photo makes it seem like he can drink all by himself but this was a fluke. Usually I hold it for him and he drinks but he got a hand on it and went to town.
Did I mention he is obsessed with the remote?? He can't take his eyes off it and plays For a long time!

Callie and Nolan

Callie has had too much fun with Nolan today. The two are pretty wild together. The good news for me is that he wears her out. Both kids have bad colds with lots and lots of boogers and a cough too. Carmen and I took the kids to play tennis at the park and then to lunch. And in the afternoon we went to Grandma and Grandpas to see the Chargers game, albeit very little as we couldn't stay due to bedtime. Callie looks like a tennis pro in these photos but in reality she didn't hit a single ball, got frustrated and then just ran around instead. She looked good at least!
Get ready for a lot of photos. When it's me and Carmen and no one complaining about photo taking we go a little wild.... And this is just a small selection of the best ones!

Christmas Circle

Tonight we went walking Christmas Circle with Grandma and Grandpa, Carmen and Nolan. Callie has a cold with a runny nose and cough and D has just the runny nose. I'm fighting off some sort of similar cold but mine is inconsistent runny nose. I forced Callie to be bundled for the walk when it was still probably 55 degrees. Her favorite display was the hello kitty yard, which matched her hello kitty hat that Nena Corral made her. So cute! I liked the Padres yard the best. Sorry only took one photo all day as I was busing managing my two kids, taking Lt for his ear checkup, and battling the crowd at Target to finish up some basics shopping. And not even an Elfie photo today... But she made it back in Callie's room in the drawer or her dresser. She insisted we move her back to the shelf and she wore her mittens so she could touch her without making any of her major go away. It was so cute!

Elfie makes coffee

The magic of Elfie is working! Callie is believing. Elfie found a new spot and was making coffee today. Callie was talking to her, pretending to bring her snacks and pour her coffee... All without touching her. She's really getting it!
She's really getting into the Christmas spirit.
