Blustery Day

We had a storm come through last night with rain and strong wind. It woke me up several times the wind was so loud. By morning the rain has stopped but it was still cold and windy compared to what we are used to. I took the kids for the usual morning walk to look for the bus and bundled them in jackets. Diego was so bothered by the wind. He kept touching his hair and covering his face. Eventually he got used to it and just dealt with it, either that or the excitement of a school bus beeping and waving at home distracted him from the wind. When we of back to the house I went to the side to throw away the doggy doo bag and when I came back all three of them were sitting together on the steps. Pretty impressive really.

Other than that, Manny is starting to actually sit with Callie and let her pet him when she is calm such as watching tv. This one was this morning, the two of them on her couch together.

Callies new pajamas

Callie hates right pajamas. Which is difficult because all kids pajamas are snug due to the flame requirement. Lately she has been taking her pants off every night and sometimes even her shirt. So I gave her one of my shirts and she has become very attached. This is the third night in a row she is wearing it! Guess I can stop buying pajamas and just give her my old shirts.

Taylor gave me this crazy Hershey shirt about 8 years ago I think when she traveled to Hershey park for work. I am a little surprised I still have it. Must have been sentimental as I cleaned out my drawer. Passing it on to a kid who loves it lots.

Fun with friends

We had visitors yesterday.. Friends! Callie, Dimitri and Daphne had a blast. Diego slept about 2 hours and missed out on a lot of the fun. I went out to girls night last night and so I didn't do anything with all the photos.

Then today Callie had a special outing to Coronado with her daddy and was just so happy. She is always missing him since he works all week and she can't wait to do things with him. Both kids were attached to him today and that was fine for me, I get plenty of love still.

Diego in the bath

Diego had some quiet alone time in the bath yesterday. He loves to be in the bath. I finally got him singing Frozen songs. In the car frequently he sings with Callie to many of the Frozen songs. I can never prove it as I don't get it on tape since I'm driving. So when prompted he sang for me a bit, isn't he adorable??

Happy Veterans Day

I had the day off for Veterans Day, so I kept the kids busy. In the morning Callie and I packed personal care bags for the homeless. A former client who passed away's family does something to give back in her memory every year on the anniversary of her death. It's next week and this year they are working to help the homeless by collecting items of need and then passing them out. Callie and I worked on bags full of soap, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush, and other personal care items. She decorated all the bags and after making the bags she agreed to give away most of her Halloween candy to the homeless too! Wow I was impressed this made an impact on her and she voluntarily packed it all up in bags to give away. What a sweetie. In the morning we did some art and you can see her focused on her task.

Then we went to the park and played on the pretend bus since that's Diegos gave outs thing at the moment.

Diego wears Daddy's shoes

I've seen photos of Juan when he was 1 wearing his Chargers sneakers. When Callie was born Nena passed on to me these saved sneakers. I put them away in the closet and didn't remember them until Callie was already larger than the size they were. So I saved them again for D and now he's the perfect size to wear them. He really likes them too and it's super cute to see him wear shoes I know his dad wore over 30 years ago! Now D will have to save them for his son in hopefully another 30 years, or at least 25.

Catch up

Sometimes I don't post because I had a boring day or didn't take photos, but the whole weekend I had photos and just forgot to post them. I wasn't even busy at night just checked out from the blog I guess. Sorry... Without further ado here are a bunch of fun photos.

Friday 18 month check up at the doctor

Stats for the visit:

Height 2'6.5" = 4% (can this be right?!? He doesn't seem short to me)

Weight: 24 lbs- 54%

Head: 19.29" - 89% (he does have a big head)

Jorge brought D a bus cookie, he loved it both in looks and eating it. He played with it at first driving it on the table until I showed him it was food.

Diego crying when Daddy left for the Chargers game. I think he thought he was going... Sorry buddy not old enough yet.

Spinach muffins. I'm tricking Diego into eating veggies as he refuses. These actually taste totally normal but are bright green. He refused to even taste it. I also made some with puréed brocoli carrots and prune juice I didn't think he would eat and did. It's crazy because it's green he won't touch it but the other was brown and he ate it. I tried both and the spinach were much more normal and don't taste like veggies. Silly kid!

Lego builders time at the library. We made a dog house but that's a cat on the roof.

Can you see Callie hiding in the car? She refused to get out as she is terrified of the goose since it but her over a year ago. 

Diego isn't afraid of the ducks or goose and even ate the bread he was supposed to feed them!

Now all caught up except one batch I'm keeping for a seperate post, I'll do it tomorrow. I'll try to stay on top of it.
