Counting money

Callie found money in her Easter eggs at Grandmas house and she found quite a bit of cash. She'd been asking to go to the toy store with her cash soo finally got around to taking her. Before we even left she said she wanted the hello kitty jewelry box she saw at the last trip. I told her she ready told people she wanted that for her birthday but she still said she wanted it. And I tried to talk her into something else, I showed her 100 different toys at the store but alas we went home with the jewelry box. Turns out she knows what she wants and doesn't change her mind. And she is a good picker, it was a perfect you for her. It actually was a decorate your own with scrapbook paper, glue, glitter, stickers and gems. Boy did she have fun decorating, here is the final project!
I am also working on lots of projects but I won't be sharing until the party... Some surprises are good.

Grass haircuts

Callie has a green thumb! She's been growing grass hair this past week and today she gave it a haircut. Who knew growing grass was so fun. She is also growing sunflowers that started as seeds back in January. Now they are just blooming :)
Today was our first mommy and me ballet class. Callie was shy and wasn't too sure. She at one point said mommy this is too hard and all the other moms got a goodnight. She isn't the youngest one so we weren't struggling the most but we were a close second. Eventu towards the end Callie enjoyed some of the activities. And I think even though it wasn't a huge success it was a success because she wants to go back again. Now we just need to get her a ballet outfit as she liked the ones that some of the other girls had. They aren't mandatory but they sure are cute and fun.
Otherwise all my free time is being devoted to working on projects for Calliea birthday. I can't show you all my progress but I'm excited for the results.

Hoppy Easter!

What a busy Easter we had. First thing in the morning we went out egg hunting with the kids. Callie woke up so excited for her Easter basket and to see the eggs outside. I mean way more excited than she was on Christmas! Too bad I didn't get that on video. After a fun filled egg hunt and opening of the basket and eggs we ate breakfast.
We then packed up to go to Nicky and Hunters for Easter brunch with friends. My friend Canessa was in town with her two kids and Callie and Sebastian had a great time chasing each other around.
We rushed home for a quick nap and then headed to Grandma and Grandpas for Easter dinner, another egg hunt and birthday cake and presents for me! Wow what a day. Thanks to everyone who helped make our Easter and my belated birthday such a great day. Look how cute these kids are!!!! Hoppy Easter!

Please notice that Callie and Ford have fallen down in the background!

11 Months Old

Thursday Diego turned 11 months old. I was too busy to get around to photos and writing about his current interests and skills so I waited for the weekend.
So what's D up to at eleven months?

He still crawls with the one sideways leg but pretty quickly. He can stand for awhile but prefers to crawl. When we try to get him to walk he just gets down and crawls whenever he is trying to get. Diego is a little dare devil though and loves to crawl up and down the fireplace hearth., the single step in our home and in and out the deck door. He goes back and forth over and over and somehow finds that fun. He also crawls under everything. His favorite is under the stools at our counter but he gets stuck frequently and cries.
While he hasn't made any progress in his gross motor skills he definitely has in his speech. His favorite word is Daddy which he says like Daadeeee. But this week he has also learned Callie, PaPa and MaMa! Callie is somewhat similar to daddy but I can tell it's different. The other hysterical thing he does is if he wants to eat something he sees, usually something you are eating, he makes this clicking sound with his mouth. It's the way he tells you he wants something and he only does it for food. It's pretty adorable.
He is a much pickier eater than Callie was. His favorite food is bread. I give him a variety of food and mix it together but he picks out all the bread.
Something really exciting for me is that Diego isn't taking any more medicine! He has been slowly weaned off all his medicines and is doing great with no reflux or constipation. I even have him drinking regular dairy based formula. The next step is to let him eat actual dairy like cheese. That's coming this week sometime. He hasn't been sleeping through the night much but has been sick most of the month so I have been going down if he cries. Hopefully when all the kids are finally well we can get back to full nights of sleeping.
Before I know it he will be one year old! Time is flying by.

And don't forget about Callie. She's hosting floating tea parties and splashing around!

Fancy birthday dinner

Juan and I went out for a fancy dinner to celebrate my birthday at Flemings. I think we are officially old as we were the first ones in the restaurant and were home before Callies bedtime. Thanks to Tia Mari and Tio Bo for watching the kids and allowing us a peaceful and delicious dinner out. Mari snapped these photos of the kids while she was there.

And today I braided Callies hair and wanted to get a photo of it. She liked it so much she wouldn't let me take it out even at bedtime!

Mail time

Callie received a package from Great Aunt Charleen this week. It was full of all kinds of fun stuff. So we have been busy coloring on bathtub walls with special crayons, planting grass seeds that grow into hair and eating gummy bears shaped like Doc McStuffins. Thanks Charl for the box o fun, Callie is having a blast with her mail.
