Down to one?

First off my apologies for terrible blogging this week. I have neglected you all. Don't take it personal, I have been working every night after work to put the house back in order, clean, organize and tidy up. The floors and stairs are complete and we moved back in the "west wing" of our house however it just seemed like we needed to clean out and declutter so we can have a fresh start. We donated A LOT of stuff Friday and it feels good to have some closet space and floor space.
Anyways because if my busyness I just forgot to take photos during the week.
Callie has been fighting napping so today we tried just one nap in the midday instead of a morning and afternoon nap. She actually did very well. We will see if this becomes the new normal.
I did capture this video of Callie before bed though. I have been channeling my inner Pa and using the hey! Instead of the no no. Usually when I say no no and do the wiggle pointy finger she says no no back to me so I tried this. It worked this time but usually she laughs at me. Not too convincing I guess :)
Also I bought Callie this adorable kitchen play set that is made for outdoors to make mud pies! She will love it because she already wants to play in the dirt and water. Mix those two together and you get one fun mess! For now it's in the house for clean pretend play.

Happy Birthday Jorge

We celebrated Jorge's birthday yesterday. Callie just wanted to play with his piñata and balloons he brought home from work. The balloons were bigger than her.
I think I have a chance at this birthday candle blowing thing. Now when she sees a birthday cake or candle she makes her blowing sound. I better get practicing, only 1 week til her birthday!

New Shoe Woes

Well my new shoes idea was a big fail. They were too hard for Callie to walk in. I actually took her in to the pediatrician today to have her hands checked as she had bruising near her thumb and I am over paranoid about all the things I know can happen. I literally walked in saying could she have a scaphoid fracture? She fell on an outstretched hand on cement. The dr was like I don't think that's Even possible in a 1 year old but it's good you are concerned :) it made me feel better and she said return the shoes and stick with softer soles and rounded toes so she doesn't keep falling. So I returned those and they only had 2 kids in her size and width (5W, the dr says that's big and may be part of why she trips sometimes, blame the big feet on me). It was pink sparkly bow or these so we went with these.

Callie's new digs

Callie got new shoes today since her other were too tight and hurting her feet. Since she was getting much better at walking we decided on the more sturdy soles which are harder. There was another pair with even harder soles but she couldn't walk in them. So we went with the fancy light weight running shoes. They seemed ok at first although her balance wasn't quite as good. Within the 1st hour she tripped over her now longer feet and fell on her face on the sidewalk. She was tough and didn't really cry but she is back to having a forehead bump and bruise again. Poor Callie. Hopefully it goes away soon. We will break the new shoes in slowly and be more careful.
On a positive note the floors are finished and Callie and I are going back home tonight.
Tomorrow is mommy day. I'm headed off to Glen Ivy Hot Springs for a girls spa day and relaxation so you won't see me posting on the blog. Callie and daddy will have their own adventures. :)

Singing Baby

Callie likes all things with buttons (especially thins that don't belong to her) but the microphone and speaker is a favorite. Look at the sheet excitement on her face as she runs around with the microphone!

Sweeping Up

Callie has been helping us clean up the house. It's a total disaster in the house with all the construction on the floors. We left the broom out and she just picked it up and started sweeping. What a good helper!
Today the put down the stain and the first coat of poly so it's incredibly smelly and chemically at our house. Callie and I are sleeping at Grandma and Grandpas house for the next few nights to avoid it. Good thing they just redid Callie's room to be super cute. Now she and I get to spend the night in her newly decorated big girl room, and there is even a bed for me! It's better than the guest room at my house I've been sleeping in.

Grandpa and Callie

Callie and I spent most of the day at Grandma and Grandpas house as our house is a construction zone. We are getting new hardwood floors in our bedroom, new stairs and a refinished living room floor. Needless to say it was very loud at our house and hard to keep Callie corralled away from the workers carrying wood and heavy tools. So I decided to take her to visit grandma and grandpa for the afternoon. Grandpa was home from work so he spent most of the day playing with Callie. They are too funny together. They enjoy the outdoors together a lot. Here they are enjoying the weather. Callie also wanted to play with Bella but she isn't as tolerant as our dogs to the torture of a baby ;)
