Chomping on cukes

Callie continues to have trouble with that terrible tooth. One of the things she really likes is to chomp on cucumbers. Cold and cooling and tastes yummy. Here she is at grandmas with her cucumber. It was another tough day. She got more Tylenol. The pediatrician called me back and said that if she seems to be in pain then keep giving her the Tylenol and she can have it every 6 hours. We are avoiding it when possible but when she seems in pain we will give it to her. Hopefully she feels better soon, it's getting closer to out as I can really see it now. I'll work on getting a new photo of it by Thursday.

Terrible Teething

The last 2 days Callie has been miserable. Crying for long periods of time and screaming in pain suddenly. I didn't notice any odd behavior prior to yesterday but she kept putting her hand in her mouth. I reached my finger in there yesterday and she sure did have a tooth coming in right in the front bottom. We made it through the day yesterday but she was not her usually happy self. She wouldn't play by herself on the floor and sometimes even when I would hold her she would still cry. I tried everything to keep her distracted and happy. The best thing was chewing on a burp rag (a thin one) and cucumber slices.
Today was just like yesterday, crying and crying. She didn't sleep well last night, up every 2-3 hours crying. Then this morning she only took a 40 min nap when she usually sleeps 2 hrs. By 11:30 she was screaming and had been crying an hour with her hands in her mouth, so I have her Tylenol. I don't want to see her in pain but I don't want to give her medicine much either.
I tried to get a photo of her poor gum with the tooth but it was tough. It is on the bottom right side (her right). If you feel in there with your finger the tooth is cutting through the gum and it is sharp!! Poor baby, I can't stand seeing her in pain. Hoping this tooth comes in fast and she can get some relief.

Bye bye GG

GG had to go home today :( we were sad to see her go. We went out to breakfast downtown before her flight out. This is the same breakfast place we went 6 years ago when she fist visited me in San Diego.
We are planning to see GG and gramps in November for Thanksgiving but she just can't wait and so she may come back in October. We had a great time visiting and I still havent put away all the toys she brought. She came loaded with stuff for Callie; a jumper, 2 suitcases full of toys and clothes, 1 suitcase full of books. The security people at the airport must think she is crazy! And maybe she is just a little but it's my fault I push her to bring all this crazy stuff across country. Callie loves all the stuff and just wait until she sees what GG has back in CT waiting for her!
We love you lots GG and miss you already. Too short of visits from Gramps and GG, I think it's time to retire so you can visit longer ;)

Barnyard Friends

Cindy brought Callie this really cool plush barn that's filled with stuffed animals that make noises when you squeeze them. Callie was quite intrigued by these little animals that made noise. She really likes the duck. I am not sure what her attraction to ducks is but she sure likes the quack. Here she is playing with her barn and GG, naked because its just so hot out here! 92 degrees in San Diego, we are struggling with no ac.

Tasting.... Num num num

GG stayed home and watched Callie all day while I went to work. When I came home this is what they were doing. Callie is naked and eating an apple in a tasting sock thingy. She was loving it. Chewing and chewing on the fabric to smoosh the apple. She could get juice and chew on a hard chunk. Callie loved it! They were so cute playing together on the floor.

Sitting Pretty

GG and her friend Cindy arrived yesterday and we had a big family dinner last night. It was really a great time with everyone over. It was Marta's birthday so we celebrated with a cake too. It was fun but a lot of work after a long day of work and getting Callie to bed. So my apologies for no post last night.
But today I had the day off to spend with Callie, GG and Cindy. Callie was really showing off her stuff! She was getting into her quadruped over and over again. She was rolling around like a steam roller. And then after we got back from our shopping trip she took it to a new level, sitting unsupported! I was with her after her nap on GG bed. I sat her up and let her go. She just kept sitting! She even wobbled and kept herself up. It was about 45 seconds of sitting by herself! I ran to get my camera but she fell before I got back. She sat again for a photo but not as long as that first time. I think she was just showing off for GG since she isn't here often and wanted her to be the first to see her sitting.
