Beach Party

We had a beach party on a Sunday night! Reunion of the ski trip crew. Diego sat this one out as he has still been quite crabby. Had a blast cooking hot dogs and smores over the fire and even went fancy with ribs at the beach. Beautiful San Diego night and sunset with friends.

Callie's sunglasses shop

Callie cracks me up. First it was a bagel store in our playground and now the upstairs is a sunglasses shop. She needs more sunglasses to sell she says. I try to talk her into being a physical therapist but she's into anything sales. One of a kind this girl!

Diego's feeling under the weather with a fever and what I think is a tooth coming in. He keeps saying mouth hurts. I'm not sure what's going on but he's very sad. Hopefully he feels better soon.

Pretend food

For some reason my kids are always pretending to sell bagels on the playgroUnd. It's the same thing at Grandmas, our house or the park. So I figured we should actually have something fun to sell and at least a few pretend bagels. Callie and I made clay "food" items including donuts, bagels, cookies, pretzels, churros, goldfish, cereal, and more. We had fun making them with the limited color choices of clay we had. Then we took it all outside to play. Anyone want to buy a bagel?

Diegos day at Children's Museum

I've been waiting over a month to get the library free pass to the children's museum to check it out. Well I finally got it and now Callies been "sick". She says she is sick but she really doesn't seem very sick. Anyways I only have it for a few days and Callie refused to go yesterday and today. So I resorted to taking Diego and leaving Callie home with Juan.

It was a good time! Callie would have really liked it if she went and Diego had a fun time. I didn't take too many photos but Diegos favorite things were the car ramps and the car-eoke (karaoke inside a car) where you sing inside a car. There were actually a lot of cool things to do. So many good things I may try to take both kids Monday before I have to return the pass. Here's a few not very clear photos of Diego at the museum.

Cooking rocks

The rocks under the playground serve many purposes. The kids like to scoop them into buckets. So I figured we could improve even farther with a makeshift table for "cooking" rocks. I also had a mixer that was on an old little tykes you that was falling apart. So we combined the two and viola a cooking station for the rocks. Callie mixed them with water, scooped measured poured etc. Instant fun!

Sick day

Callie kept saying her ear hurt today and school called me to pick her up. I brought her in and of course the doctor could find nothing wrong with her and her ears look perfect. She definitely isn't feeling well but I guess she's ok. She wanted to watch videos in grandmas bed with a blanket and then Papa and Diego all make three in the bed! Hopefully she feels better tomorrow but at least she doesn't have school so she can have a chance to rest.
