New bathing suit!

I bought Callie a new bathing suit set. It's a practical more covered approach with SPF 50 fabric which helps when you are trying to keep the sun off her shoulders and back.it also comes with a hat which is a big help. She outgrew all her old bathing suits so I bought her this one in 3T. It's a little big, meaning not too skin tight but any tighter and it would be difficult to get the shirt on and off.
I braved OB dog beach on a Saturday by myself as Juan was working at home on the front yard. What I failed to remind myself was two things... Saturdays are really crowded and therefore more difficult to find a parking spot and l am pregnant, large and chasing an almost two year old in the water which is exhausting! Either way we had a fun time but we only stayed 45 minutes as I couldn't last much longer. Callie is a danger seeker! It was low tide so there was plenty of area for her to play Ina safe depth of water, but Callie would rather run towards the channel or out into the waves. I have to be fit next to her every second or else she just gets herself into trouble going under water fast. She had a fun time even though I gave her time out twice for not listening and running into the channel in deep water. I figure there won't be too many more chances for taking her to the beach this summer once I have a newborn and Callie to take care of. Callie has already convinced GiJu to the her to the beach when she comes next week though so there will at least be 1 more time.

Happy Friday

Tia Mari took these photos of Callie while she was visiting yesterday. Callie has been talking about Mari and what she brought her... Movies, felt books, and a bear. On top if that she is still talking about Diego's sheep. Mari brought a sheep hand puppet that she told Callie was for Diego and Callie did not take that well. She got so upset and even cried. Uh oh looks like sharing may be an issue...

Stomping puddles

I dumped out all the water that collected in Callie's pool and table during our big rainstorm. I just dumped it right on the deck as it was too heavy to move. I thought that would help keep Callie out of the water but instead she said puddles and just played in the little bit of water that sat on top of the deck. So much for trying to keep her dry!

Up late

Callie didn't take her nap until 2:45 today! I don't know why she refused to sleep but she sure procrastinated. That means she wasn't ready for bed at 7 because she only woke up at 4. We went to costco and she wore a ridiculous outfit with sunglasses and jewelry... Fancy she calls it. Then she stayed up late and spent time snuggling with me and manny on the couch. I better not let her enjoy this too much or she will make it a regular request!

Dog Fabric

I'm super excited that today my custom designed fabric arrived in the mail! Diego is having a dog themed nursery and I thought well what's better than our own dogs?! So I set out to create a room around our two dogs. I really wanted silhouettes and so I designed a simple fabric with manny and lt silhouettes. It came today and I am really happy with it. I think it's going to look great in the quilt and the curtains. Everything else will be coordinating navy or green fabrics. I still have so much to doubt now with the fabric in hand I can get going on matching colors and pulling together all the details. So what do you think? I purposefully left it really simple as when I tried to make a more elaborate design I wasn't happy with my work. As we all know I'm not a fabric designer by trade... I just play one on tv, lol, corny joke.

Little People Play

Callie has just started playing "pretend" with her toys. One of her favorites she played with a lot today is the little people playground set. She has them pretend to go on the swing, take turns, climb the stairs and go down the slide. She cracks me up as she talks herself through her imaginary play. I think it's so adorable.
She was searching for the little girl and found her so she proudly held it up.

Happy Birthday PaPa

I forgot to post these last night but we celebrated Papas birthday yesterday. Callie helped with the cake, meaning she stuck her hands in the frosting. It was a really rainy day too and I brought a giant umbrella to get from the car to the house. Callie thought the umbrella was great fun walking out in the rain and just playing on the deck with it while it was raining outside.
Callie made PaPa a special mug for his coffee for his birthday. She traced her hand (well I did) then she scribbled (colored) all over the mug. Juan brought her over as I was at work event all day and when she got there she kept saying PaPa mug. Oops telling the present before it's even opened! Luckily PaPa didn't make any sense out of what she was saying so it didn't ruin the surprise but pretty funny anyways. Happy Birthday PaPa!
