Summer fun

Callie pretty much wants to do all water activities this week since its hot out. She isn't even that picky as long as there is water involved. Yesterday she was filling up a water bottle and dumping it out on the cement. She was so cute in her summer dress. I got this one at a yard sale in CT last summer for just 10 cents! Good deal!
Today was my first Friday off and officially the start of my part time position. It didn't feel like it since I was just off but I am sure next week it will sink in. I spent the day cleaning and doing laundry as I was really far behind. We did have some friends over to play and little Landon enjoyed the pool and the play kitchen. Sorry I didn't take photos as I couldn't find my phone for hours after Callie misplaced it.

Quiet = trouble

The other night driving home Callie was extra quiet. I could see her face but she seemed just fine and calm so I didn't say anything to her, I just let her be. Juan drove separately in his truck and when we pulled in the driveway he got her out. He said "what happened?! You gave her a pen?!" I didn't know what he meant until I saw her legs. She had found a pen within reach and then proceeded to draw all over her legs. Nice coloring Callie! We had to take a bath to wash it all off. I better be careful where she finds pens.

Water days

It has been incredibly hot. Callie has been spending time in the backyard in the pool with grandma and grandpa this week. On top of that grandpa took out the water guns which Callie thinks are very cool. She can't squirt them by herself but she knows how to get others to help her.
Here she is holding her giant water gun and staying cool.

Callie sized chairs

Tia Mari gave Callie these adorable little Callie sized chairs. Callie can sit on it by herself and get up by herself too. She thinks this is so cool. We had to put away the chairs for her table at home since she kept standing up on them but these ones are just right. She loves them! Thanks Tia Mari and Tio Bo. Callie thinks you both always come with presents, because lots of times you do!

Pink Sparkly Shoes, Oh My!

Nicky bought Callie some sparkly pink Toms shoes as a thank you gift for participating in her wedding. Callie opened it in the car on the way home and immediately was excited and knew they were shoes. She even put one on her foot! That's a smart baby. Now I wouldn't have picked out pink or sparkles but Callie really loves these shoes. They are still a little big so she only wore them in the house but she put on her necklace and strutted her stuff! Thanks Nic!

Doctor Callie?

What should we do on a hot day? It was 85 degrees and humid today. The boys were all at their fantasy football draft and so the girls decided to do their own thing. We went to Corrine's house with the kids. They have AC which was amazing! They also have a jumper and they blew it up in their dining room to let the kids jump inside where it's cool. Callie loved playing with the other kids and of course new toys. But one of her favorite things was the real stethoscope that they had and let the kids play with. Paging Dr Callie.... Maybe a doctor in our future?

Nicky and Hunter's Wedding Day

Nicky and Hunter got married yesterday!!

It was a great day to celebrate 2 of my favorite people that are just perfect for each other. The weather cooled off a bit so it wasn't too hot and everything was perfect. Callie had her big moment in the spotlight as the flower girl. She did a really good job I think. She walked a few steps down the aisle then stopped. Callie threw a few petals on the ground and then even swung the basket and almost dumped them all. She then realized that everyone was watching and she just stood there and smiled. I think she was proud of herself, like hey I did it aren't you proud of me? All that practice got her to toss one handful of petals and smile. I was at the front of the aisle squatting down encouraging her to walk to me all the way at the front. She just stood there smiling an didn't take a single step. After a few seconds I realized she wasn't coming and I walked up to get her. We then walked together hand in hand down the rest of the aisle. She left right after walking down the aisle as she wouldn't hold still or be quiet for the actual ceremony. We didn't get any photos or videos of the event for now since I was in he wedding and Juan was helping get Callie where she needed to be. However the wedding photographer assured me she got some really good ones and the videographer was there too. So I'm hopeful Nicky will get back some great photos and footage eventually.
For now I have these photos of her in her fancy dress. She loved the telephone in our hotel room and my flower bouquet.
What a beauty that little girl!!
