Beach Babe

Monday we went to the beach with my longtime friend Sara a d her little girl Olivia. My mom and Sara's mom were friends in high school! So we go way back. Callieand Olivia had a great time. Callie was swimming for hours in the waves and for the first time was t scared but just floated up and over them (they were tiny). She made sand castles and dug holes and Diego slept and hung out in the shade like an angel baby. We had a great day in the sun.

Muddy puddles and the hose

Last night Callie played with the hose as we were washing off Spike and Roo after they ran away and went in the mud. Callie sprayed the car and a few people once she figured out how it worked.
She had been waiting for the rain to come. This morning it was raining and Callie woke up excited like it was Christmas morning saying it's raining it's raining. She played out in the rain quite a few times throughout the day. She wanted to jump in muddy puddles like Peppa Pig, use her rain boots and umbrellas and hide in the dog house to get out of the rain. She sure had fun. We never get down pouring rain in San Diego like we had here today and Callie really enjoyed it.

Riding pretend horses

Callie's been riding real horses but in the basement she has a pretend riding horse. It's a bouncy one and she finally is good at riding it. She can even get on and off by herself. It's still pretty fun even if it's not real.

And here's some photos playing games with Pop and sleeping Diego.

And a few random ones I discovered my dad took on his phone.

Peggy's Barn

Peggy went out if town this week but was gracious enough to let us visit her horses without her. If you remember Callie has been here before, last time it was snowy and less fun. Stripes was a horse I rode as a kid and this barn is one I rode at and spent hours and hours of my childhood at. It's a special place for me and so relaxing to enjoy the air, the smell of hay and the horses. Callie rode stripes up and down the driveway and gave her a good brushing. Diego got to sit on a horse for the first time and he just stated down at her like what is this?
Callie even swept the barn floor. She's going to grow up loving horses but it's too expensive in San Diego so ill ship her back east once a year to ride ;)

PaPa's softball game

PaPa had a softball game yesterday as part of the playoffs for his league. We all went to watch the game and cheer him on. Callie was a good cheerleader yelling through the fence and clapping. PaPas team won so they play again next Saturday. Callie eyed the playground as soon as we arrived so before we left everyone went with her to play. Boy did she think that was great. She had so many people on that playground with her. We tried to get a family photo but my family isn't that great at getting smiling eyes open photos so this is the best we had.

Ashley and Matt get MARRIED!!!

Ashley and Matt got married! It was such a fun day and we were thrilled to be a there with friends and family and to have Callie in her special role as flower girl. Callie was so cute. She was excited for the day and impatient to get the wedding started. She was beautiful in her white dress, which was pretty dirty by the end of the night but that just meant we were having fun. She did a great job walking down the aisle and throwing the petals and was quite the ham. Callie watched Ashley and Matt's first dance and said, "one day I get married?" and told Gig and Pop (their new abbreviated names she gave them) that they can come see her get married. It was stinking adorable! They had a big bonfire with smores and she ate a bunch of smores, maybe more than her dinner!
She danced up a storm and was the life of the party. She was very well behaved, for a 2 year old, and made it past 8 pm before Gig and Pop took her and Diego home. We were busy having fun so I didn't get too many photos, but I did snap some. The professional photographer took a LOT of photos of her so I am looking forward to seeing those in the future.
Congratulations to Ashley and Matt!
