Strawberry scones

This morning Callie decided she wanted strawberry scones and we should make them. I try to oblige in special request when I am home and we have time as I say no often enough or am in a rush. So I found a recipe with no eggs and all the ingredients we had in the house and went to it. I thought they were pretty darn good. Nice work baker Callie!

20/20

Sorry for the long lapse in posts. I was super sick then had laser eye surgery and couldn't use my phone for a few days. I'm finally feeling better and seeing better than 20/20. It's pretty awesome. I can see and don't need to put glasses on or have kids smear marks on my glasses. I'm still getting used to looking at myself without my glasses!

And we had a surprise visit from Mariah today too. The kids had so much fun playing with her.

Big Bear snow day

I didn't do as well as I could have taking photos on this vacation, but that's because a lot of it I was just enjoying my time and my family. We had yucky rainy windy weather on Sunday and then today we stuck around to see the snow! It was Ford and Jeanas first snow. Diego saw some snow in CT but was sick and barely sledded. Well he still doesn't like sledding.... The snow was really coming down and he didn't like it on him, his boots, his face, his clothes.... He cried about it. Callie loved it and sledded down the hill on the side of the house like a pro.

We drove down the mountain in the snow to go home so we wouldn't get stuck there. They were expecting 10" today. I think it was a well rounded trip, some fun and nice weather, a rainy day inside and then top it off with a snowstorm. Could you ask for anymore?

Enrique had this idea we should go and I'm so glad we all decided to do it together. We had so much fun. The kids were glad to be home with all their toys but Diego was still asking for Tio and Fordie tonight. A www they love each other all ready.

What a fun and relaxing weekend away. Back to the real world tomorrow.

Big Bear Lake day 1

We're on vacation! Celebrating Enrique's 60th birthday with all the family. We have the perfect house right on the lake with a toy room, playground, hot tub and all the space we need in a beautiful log cabin. It was Enrique's idea that we all go on a trip together and it's been a lot of fun. Now we are waiting for the snow to come... We hope as there is no snow right now.

Chopsticks

I gave Callie chopsticks for the first time this past weekend. I had some strange chopsticks helpers I found in my silverware drawer. It basically makes chopsticks into tweezers. Who knew that a simple chopstick could make a meal so much more fun and get Callie to eat her whole plate of chicken? Apparently this will be something I continue and maybe with veggies next.

Super boy and the blanket cape

Diego just discovered we could make his blanket into a super hero cape. He runs in circles and yells super boy pretending to fly. I think he's pretty super!

Blowing out the candles

Callie helped blow out the candles for PaPa birthday cake on his real birthday. Now she's talking about the big celebration this weekend. We are headed to Big Bear with the whole family. I reminded her it's just a trip no big party but she insists there will be. Hmm what does she have planned?
