Pump It Up

Happy Friday! Since I had the day off we tried to find something new and fun to do with Callie. We decided on Pump It Up and inflatable jump play place we have locally. It was a huge success! Callie loved it and was so brave. She even climbed all the way to the top of the 25' slide! It was a tough climb and the slide was so fast it was even scary for me, but she did it twice. She enjoyed the climb more than the slide down. Then we had lunch at Souplantation and even D had a plate with peas and beans.
The photos are blurry as jumping and sliding are too fast of movements for my phone to capture in not to bright light. At least you can see her all the way at the top. The other photos are D and Callie playing in the morning.

GiJu arrives!

The day has finally arrived, GiJu is here! Callie was waiting and talking about it for weeks. She had so much fun opening suitcases and showing GiJu what Santa brought.  Aunt Jean and Uncle David sent Christmas presents and Callie had a blast creating her princess mirror and stamping everything in sight. Then at bedtime everyone wanted to be with GiJ, Callie and the dogs piled in her bed for books. D is the only one who isn't too sure as he is in his mommy mommy obsession phase and anytime I hand him over or walk away he screams! Hopefully he adjusts tomorrow once I'm gone for work.

Crying...

I came home from work to just crying. D has been crying all afternoon. His tooth hurts but he's extra dramatic, refusing to sleep and just yelling even when held. He also woke me up at 3:30 am so I was exhausted and just wanted a nap. So much for a nap for anyone....
Teething stinks. I want it to be over already.
He was happy at lunch time eating his pears and then he was trying to stand up in his crib and get out when he was mad at nap time. It's time to lower the mattress. Luckily in the crib in his room it's a bit lower and he can't reach the rails yet.
Headed to bed at 7 pm and hoping for some sleep for both of us.

D gets to sitting

Diego can get himself into sitting from his belly very consistently now. He went from on accident once, to able to do it every time in only a few days. Let's hope he learns some other skills this fast.
Here some other random photos from he week. Callie wearing my boots, D sitting in the laundry basket, and the two kids playing kitchen in the bath together. They love the new bath toys Callie got for Christmas from GiJu and Grandpa Ed.
And lastly, we went to Ally's 5th birthday party today, mad hatter themed tea party. I wish I got a better photo of Callie with her fancy tea cup with her name on it and her cute hat and glasses but D wasn't cooperating as he has two new teeth coming in. This is the best I got from the party...

Jungle Bells at the zoo

I've been wanting to take the kids to the zoo for their Christmas themed event Jungle Bells. They have a trolley ride around the zoo to see the lights up. Well I finally got around to it when it was these weekend. Tammy, Jason and Kaitlyn met us there and I was so excited. Unfortunately it was not nearly as cool as I imagined. The lights were subpar and the trolley was a cart pulled around by a tractor. Hmmm.... It wasn't as fun as expected. Oh well at least we were there when I opened and didn't stand in the crazy long line that had formed by the time we left. I didn't take many photos as D fell asleep and I was holding him but here's a few I snapped before the ride.

Eight Months Old!!

Diego turns eight months old today. It's seems a little crazy to me that he is eight months old as he still seems like a baby. He is starting to do a bit better. He sits in a high chair at restaurants and is eating more. He is improving at night and I have stuck to the two feedins only all week.
He whines mostly but I swear he can say ma ma pretty clearly.
This month has been all about attachment and seperation anxiety. He is hysterical. He usually cries for me and if I even step out of sight he is ballistic, but then he so cries for dad and Grandma. Sometimes he rotates between the three of us when we are all together so we just keep passing him around.
He has gotten into sitting from laying on his belly twice although once was definitely on accident and then he was stuck in the corner of his crib!
He wants to move but he just hasn't figured it out yet. Because the floors are all hardwood he slides backwards only as his only way to move besides in circles on his belly. We were just saying that he wasn't going to crawl anytime soon as he couldn't even get into quadruped on his hands and knees and then today he figured it out! He can only do it on the carpet and bed. He can finally get on his hands and knees! I even got photos to prove it. He tries to crawl from there but falls down every time. He does move forward so it's an improvement. At least he's finally getting moving. He needs to learn to get around on his own so he can stop crying and wanting to be held and moved everywhere. Enjoy the 8 month photos! Happy 8 months to D!

On a side note, Callie got to go pick up her Hello Kitty night light today at the mall. Grandma and Grandpa came and she enjoyed the fountain, throwing pennies. It's a perfect painting, Callie's way with colors everywhere ;) I took the Christmas tree out, hooray and now just go get the Christmas lights down outside tomorrow.

Time with D

Today D was awake for an hour while Callie was still napping. It was quiet and he was happy so it was the perfect opportunity to play. Also I decided it's time he gets some "therapy" to work towards his gross motor delays. He gets frustrated so easily and then just cries so I figure if I help him learn how to do it with some success hopefully he will tolerate and try more often.
We worked on quadruped and crawling as well as rolling and transitioning to sitting. He was a pretty good sport and I snapped a bunch of photos of him playing on the floor. I even got this video of him playing with the push you. Kids are obsessed with the noise this makes. Callie loved it too.
The last photos are from New Years dinner at grandma and Grandpas house. D ate beans cut in half, a whole bunch of them. He also wore his Chargers jacket since it was cold out. So cute! GiJu bought this when I first found out I was pregnant and now it already fits even in 12 month size. Crazy how time flies. Happy 2015!
