Safety cover or dog bed?

I finally got around to sewing a protective cover for the fireplace mantel. It's made of thick fabric and a foam mattress topper. I think it's pretty safe, it at least cover the sharp corners and makes it a little softer. Callie noticed it right away and went to check it out. She is so observant! Well LT also noticed it and decided that he might like it as a bed. He apparently thinks I made it for him so he has been laying on it!
