Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day 2015. Valentine's Day is pretty different these days with two kids. It was a really busy fun day. We brought brunch to visit Tammy Jason and their new baby. Callie and Kaitlyn played in the sprinkler. Callie actually stayed just outside the spray mostly. And rode K's scooter.
I didn't take any of my fancy V day photos like I did the last few years :( maybe ill snap some photos tomorrow.
I did however notice in the morning that Callie was wearing the exact same pajamas and standing in the kitchen with a balloon. It was déjà vu from last year, so I pulled up the photo and yep totally was... Look how she has grown!
2014- same pajamas and same bathing suit!!

Then after nap time for me included I took the kids to Calentinea dinner at Grandmas and Grandpas. the husbands and boyfriends were out at the SDSU basketball game so grandpa had a lot of Valentines! The kids had fun playing and we had a fabulous dinner. And lucky Callie (and me too), Callie got to spend the night!

Happy and you know it clap your hands

It was another warm day. To get the kids out of the house we went to the park before lunch.

I washed out the kiddie pool and let D play in just a few inches of water. I didn't give it enough time to warm up so he didn't stay in too long but by tomorrow this will be good to go. D can even get into standing using the edge of the pool and has been climbing on more things in the house too.
His other new skill this week is clapping. He even does it on command, like a cute little monkey.

Callie was so excited today that she got to actually eat some of her valentines candy from her school party yesterday. We usually have to take away most since it has eggs or peanuts. She's been doing well eating 2 peanuts a day without any reaction, so today I let her have a mini Reese cup. She was so excited. She didn't have a reaction right away, but 7 hours later her face looked bad and she got a rash on the back of her knees. We just washed it and put cream on it but looks like we need to build up to a higher tolerance and number of peanuts before she can handle a pb cup.

Swimming in February

This is for all you freezing family and friends back east! Today in San Diego it was 84 degrees! Sorry for you all buried in the snow. Sometimes I'm jealous that I'm not there snowboarding and sledding but then again I'm pretty happy here in the sun.
It was warm enough I decided the kids could swim! The hot tub was cleaned out last weekend and it was a warm 90 degrees while Callie swam in it. D and I splashed around on the steps for a bit and I brought his tub out to play. Callie decided she needed to share his tub and then he didn't like it anymore. She always has to be right on top of him.
How about Callies new Helly Kitty bikini? And the pose?! I'm in trouble I tell you...

Exploring the neighborhood

Callie is feeling much better now. She enjoys driving all around the neighborhood exploring. Today we went in an older part of the neighborhood with narrow sidewalks but she still did really well.
Also we discovered sunflower seeds we used for our birdseed pine cones growing in our yard! We pulled them out and planted them in a pot so hopefully we grow some sunflowers!

A growing boy

I never even posted about how much Diwgo has grown after his nine month checkup.mhis sister took all the focus away from him, which sounds a lot like our daily life.
So without further ado... Diego at 9 months
Height: 28.1" - 35%
Weight: 21.36 lbs - 77%
Weight for length - 90%
Head circumference 18.3" - 88%

So short stout and with a big head.  That sounds about right.

He is really into standing without holding on. He's the only kid I know that doesn't learn to pull to stand but just stands up pushing off a leg of an adult or a toy. I finally got a bit better shot of him standing by himself.

Oh and he loves the dogs. When they wrestle or act crazy he laughs at them. He loves to watch them walk around the block with us and just wants to touch LT. Luckily he isn't too rough and LT is pretty tolerant.

And I got a video of him dancing to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse hotdog song. He could be anywhere in the area and if  he hears the hotdog song come on he starts his little dance. We also have a stuffed Mickey that sings this song he really likes. I think we have a theme chosen for his birthday already hint hint.

Getting into trouble chasing down his ball. He loves all balls. I think he might be a sports dude.

Hanging around the house

Callie is finally a little better with no fever and starting to eat again although her throat and ear still hurt. She only is eating soft things so today I made homemade jello (yes that means not from the box, no sugar added sorta healthy) and pudding (instant from the box, I used organic milk if that helps at all). Callie liked both of them and ate quite a bit of both.
She was bummed about being sick and missing her fun outings so we took her to ToyRUs and let her pick something out with a gift card she still had. She choose a playdoh kitchen set with an oven and a stove.  It's really cute and she played it for hours today. I think it will be popular for awhile, as are all her kitchen seats... Real kitchen, tub kitchen, outdoor kitchen, jeez we have a lot!
She also had visitors for lunch, grandpa, Hrandma, Eliana and Sean and they all came with gifts! You'd think this kid had a serious illness huh? Just spoiled...
She seems to finally be herself a little more so hopefully by tomorrow she's much better and back to her regular activities. D has a cold now too so I'm hoping he doesn't get any worse. If ever seems to end..

Sick Day

Turns out Callie is pretty sick. I thought this ear infection would just be minor but she isn't eating or playing much and is just a sick kid. We were supposed to go to Daphnes first birthday today but stayed home when she had a fever over 101 since the middle of the night. It comes down with ibuprofen but then 6 hours later it returns.
She just hung around the house most of the day and watched a lot of tv and snuggled.
Tonight when she didn't want to eat dinner again she said her throat hurts and when I checked she does have a very red and swollen throat. Too bad we only showed the doctor her ear.... I am assuming the antibiotics will work unless that's viral and hoping she turns around by tomorrow. We already cancelled tomorrow's plans too. So we went from a very busy planned weekend to a lay low and snuggle sick weekend.
She's so adorable no matter how she feels and I'd give her all the time she needs to snuggle to make sure she feels better.
The kids wore their pajamas all day... Callie picked her new fire truck ones and so we put D in his matching ones. Callie thought this was pretty good. They liked cute as least ;)
