Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there and especially to all the ones in my life. I am so lucky to have 2 grandfathers, my dad who taught me so much in life , a great father in law and  my amazing husband and dad to my kids. I don't think I could get a better group of dads anywhere!

We got to talk to the east coast dads on FaceTime today and then had a BBQ with the dads out west. Callie loved the ribs and ice cream sandwiches! It was a good day for spending time with the family as tomorrow is my first day back at work, ugh. I'm dreading the first day back... And I work 9.5 hours. Guess I better get some sleep to make it through my long day. Sending lots of love and appreciation to all those dads today, hope you had a great day.

Productive day

I don't have any cool photos for you today but I can tell you Callie and I were productive. I finished Diego's chargers blanket by adding yellow footballs, I'll get a shot of that later. Callie and I made her a fuschia blanket with peppa pigs family printed all over it that she is obsessed with. She won't put it down and even brought it to costco today, which turned out to be lucky for me as I used it as a nursing cover while I sat on their patio furniture. I also sold my two old single strollers on craigslist to clean out my dining room which was full of strollers. Callie and I swam in the pool and she practiced potty training with more than 6 successful pees on the potty.

All in all a full day. I'll leave you with this photo of my flowers Callie and I picked from the neighbors yard (with their permission of course). Imhydrangeas are my favorite and theirs are beautiful! The bushes are over 50 years old that produced these beauties!

Happy Friday 13th

Callie had friends over today to play. I won't lie it was a little chaotic but we managed with only one fight when thy started to get crabby and tired. My friend Amy and I had 1 baby, 3 toddlers and 2 dogs to manage. Normally I wouldn't count the dogs but her kids are afraid of dogs so getting them used to having my two wandering around them was a challenge. Diego was an angel today and needed the least attention of the bunch. There were a lot of messes and a lot of cleaning up but the kids had a great time. They swam in the hot tub, played kitchen, colored, played music, had a dance party and so on. Callie went right to sleep at nap time :)

She asked for them to come back another day and stay for a fire and marshmellows party. So cute my little party planner.

I don't know how preschool does it with 8 kids and 1 teacher. We had a hard enough time managing our crew of kids!

Also I decided in one of my late night feedings while playing on my phone that I needed to make my own blankets like the Aden and anais ones I like so much. I bought fabric but took me some time to get around to doing something with it. Tonight I test printed one and am thrilled with the results. This one is obviously for Juan. Now what to print on the rest of my blankets? What do you think?

Boogers for two

Callie got a cold this weekend and as much as we tried to keep her away from Diego she inevitably spread it to him. For the past two days he's been congested and sneezing and coughing like crazy. Poor little guy has a hard time sleeping and Callie wakes herself coughing too. So there has been less sleeping at our house. Today I took a nap when I got both kids down for nap time. Unfortunately if only lasted about 45 minutes but it's better than nothing. After nap I got them to snuggle in my bed and watch cartoons. Callie wanted to love her brother a bit as he woke up and I got this shot.

Looks like mommy

Diego looks most like me. Callie was a little Juan as a baby and now Diego is my mini me. My mom sent me this photo of me from when I was born. Don't you agree we look alike?

Sleepless Nights

The last 2 days/nights have been really difficult. Diego hasn't been sleeping much at all, instead crying and uncomfortable all night even when held. He has been spitting up more and unable to sleep laying down. I can't quite put my finger on what it is that's bothering him but I'm guessing onions or peppers as I had fajitas two nights in a row. On top of that Callie has come down with a cold and has congestion and boogers like crazy. She cried throughout the night as she couldn't sleep well. I went down 3 times and Juan 6 times at least. So between Diego and Callie we haven't gotten much sleep at our house this weekend. I'm hoping we get some rest tonight as it's hard to keep up with this every night with a lack of sleep.

I keep saying its a good thing they are cute....

Zoo-venture

It felt like a Saturday today because both Juan and Christian had the day off from work. We all went to the zoo with the kids for a fun day out. This trip I had our new double stroller which made the trip much easier. I still carried Diego for a little while but he also slept in the stroller for awhile. Callie was well behaved and didn't fight about sharing since they each have their own seat. All in all a very successful trip. I also got my tooth fixed today, finally and while it wasn't fun I'm glad it's done. Callie used the potty successfully twice today on her own asking. And we topped off the day with dinner with Jeana and Christian. It's really nice to have sibling with kids now so we can do fun family friend,activities together :) love you guys!
