Callie enjoys reading books about night time and likes to talk about it getting dark out and the moon coming out. We have been turning on her turtle nightlight that Lan bought her that puts stars and the moon on her ceiling at night too. Lately it has been getting dark earlier so she has seen some stars and even the moon tonight. She was obsessed with the moon. She just kept pointing and saying moon. She wanted to sit on the front steps and look at it. It was hard to convince her to go inside! Maybe she will be an astronomer or an astronaut.

More please
This past week Callie learned to say please. She is so funny, she knows she should use it when she really wants something and it usually works! She likes to use it especially for cookies and chips, more more more and then we say what do you say me she says please and makes this cute little face. How can you possibly say no to this face?!

Pool Day
Callie is lucky enough to have friends who live in communities that have pools. Today we went to visit Isla and Doris to swim in their pools. Yep that's right, plural pools. Their community has 4 pools. We stuck to the two kid friendly pools but that was plenty. Callie loved jumping in (by jumping its more like falling off the edge) into the pool, well into my arms so she doesn't go under water. She also loved sitting at the edge kicking the water and of course running around the outside. They also had a toddler pool which was about15' round and only 1.5 ft deep. It was warm and perfect for Callie. She wants to be so independent and this way she could be. She did trip and go completely under a few times by she is tough and I scooped her up quickly. Parvin, another work friend, came to visit as well and got in on the pool fun with the babies. Callie had so much fun playing in the water, it makes me think we really need a pool at our house. She was tired by the time we left from all that swimming. She fell asleep in the car on the way home in just her diaper! It was my fault as I put the pile of our stuff too close to the pool and all our clothes got soaked. Oh well it was warm enough and she didn't seem to mind. Thanks Isla and Doris for a good time.

Summer fun
Callie pretty much wants to do all water activities this week since its hot out. She isn't even that picky as long as there is water involved. Yesterday she was filling up a water bottle and dumping it out on the cement. She was so cute in her summer dress. I got this one at a yard sale in CT last summer for just 10 cents! Good deal!
Today was my first Friday off and officially the start of my part time position. It didn't feel like it since I was just off but I am sure next week it will sink in. I spent the day cleaning and doing laundry as I was really far behind. We did have some friends over to play and little Landon enjoyed the pool and the play kitchen. Sorry I didn't take photos as I couldn't find my phone for hours after Callie misplaced it.

Quiet = trouble
The other night driving home Callie was extra quiet. I could see her face but she seemed just fine and calm so I didn't say anything to her, I just let her be. Juan drove separately in his truck and when we pulled in the driveway he got her out. He said "what happened?! You gave her a pen?!" I didn't know what he meant until I saw her legs. She had found a pen within reach and then proceeded to draw all over her legs. Nice coloring Callie! We had to take a bath to wash it all off. I better be careful where she finds pens.

Water days
It has been incredibly hot. Callie has been spending time in the backyard in the pool with grandma and grandpa this week. On top of that grandpa took out the water guns which Callie thinks are very cool. She can't squirt them by herself but she knows how to get others to help her.
Here she is holding her giant water gun and staying cool.

Callie sized chairs
Tia Mari gave Callie these adorable little Callie sized chairs. Callie can sit on it by herself and get up by herself too. She thinks this is so cool. We had to put away the chairs for her table at home since she kept standing up on them but these ones are just right. She loves them! Thanks Tia Mari and Tio Bo. Callie thinks you both always come with presents, because lots of times you do!
