Looking for Daddy

Callie has had a rough weekend. She isn't sleeping well and is very fussy. I'm not sure exactly what it is, maybe her belly or teeth? She is just cranky and over tired, as am I. Juan went tithe chargers game in New Orleans so we are on our own. Today she was a real cranky kid, no naps longer than 30 min and about half as much sleep as a usual day. I got so desperate I even drove around Chula Vista to get her to fall asleep. It worked but as soon as we got home she woke up again, so only 15 min nap. But then what do you know the Chargers game came on and I had her in her high chair getting ready for dinner. She gets all quiet and well behaved and just stares at the tv. That girl I tell you takes after her father! I don't know many 5 month olds that like to watch football. Either that or she is looking for him on tv in the stands.
Also she was not very cooperative with dinner, peas, and made a big mess. If I let her help she would at least eat it but made a big mess! Check her out.

Callie Crawls

Callie figured out how to crawl today! She has been attempting for awhile but has not been very successful. Today she was able to get to the toys she wanted to pretty consistently. Of course when I tried to take a video she just stared at me. I was able to coerce her with one of her favorite Elmo videos. Not sure what it is about Elmo but she loves him. Even if she is about to have a meltdown Elmo will make her happy for the length of a song.

Three in the Bed

Callie was hanging out in my bed in the morning and both dogs had to be right with her. She was actually leaning on LT and he didn't even care. Princess Manny had to be on top of all the pillows even though he was already on the soft bed. They are too funny the 3 of then together.
I didn't get the best photo since I cut LT off and then the next is a little blurry, then the next she just decided she would lay down.

Hanging with friends

I have the best friends :) when I asked Kristen the night before if she could help me drop off my car at the shop she still said yes. She and Dimitri met picked us up and brought us home. They stayed to play awhile too. The first time Dimitri met Callie he was so interested in her and couldn't keep his hands off her. This time it was the reverse. Callie was wanting to touch Dimitri but he was busy playing with the toys and watching the dogs. Callie weighs at least the same if not more than Dimitri but he is 6 months older than her! Pretty soon she is going to be bigger than him, my little giant.

Happy Birthday Uncle Christian

Today we celebrated Uncle Christian's birthday. We had a great BBQ dinner and I made the dairy free desserts. They aren't as good as my regular stuff but for those of us who can't have dairy they are pretty darn good.
Callie was enjoying the party and upset I put her to bed over at their house and woke up crying shortly after bedtime. We took her home and she went right back to sleep. We had a good time celebrating and she sure loves her uncle. Here he is with her, Happy Birthday Uncle, it's the first year you've heard that!

Forgetful

I can't believe all the stuff that happened this weekend I forgot to tell you about, the funny good stuff! I'll blame it on lack of sleep and concern for my sick baby.
#1: first poop in the tub
Callie had a fever for days so we kept giving her cool baths when the Tylenol wasn't enough. She also got diarrhea with this virus which is never fun. Well while mid bath she starts tooting. Juan goes uh oh I think she's gonna poop. I insist she is just tooting the air out. Next thing you know there are green slimy bubbles coming up everywhere. It was pretty gross. We had to wash the whole baby tub and shower and Callie all over again! In retrospect very funny but at the time not so much.
#2 spitting
Now this won't seem as funny as it actually is until I can post a video so just trust me until then. Callie has started expressing her dislike of things by spitting or doing raspberry lips, you know when you put your lips together and blow out? Well it's so funny. We try so hard not to laugh because we don't want to encourage her but its funny. She does it for her medicine, food she doesn't like and even when she is over being in her swing. Ill get a video up this week.
Well glad to remember the good times while we were sick. She is all better now and back to her regular self. This was her sitting in her bouncy chair when she realized the horse rocking toy was next to her. She couldn't help herself from touching it. Thanks GG for more crazy toys. She pulls the hair out and tries to eat it!!!

Return to Normalcy

Hip hip hooray! Callie is officially over her sickness. She is eating again, extra hungry to make up for the days she missed out! Last night I got up to feed her 5 times! And she ate every time. I figured as much as she wanted since she was probably getting close to dehydrated. Her rash is gone and she was back to normal today with a smile on her face :) which puts a smile on my face.
We both took a nap for 2 hours in the morning to catch up on lost sleep and were feeling well rested for the day. It was a hot one here so we tried to stay out of the heat. I was eating cut up honeydew melon which was a perfect refreshing snack. Callie kept reaching for it so I figured I would let her try some. I put a chunk in her taster bag thingy that GG brought her and let her go to town. She was gnawing on it and and sucking all the juices out of it. I gave her 2 pieces and she loved it. This kid loves everything we feed her.
Also on our happy back to normal day I was able to get a photo of her smiling where you can see her teeth! Her two front teeth which she has learned to bite with, ouch!
Thanks to everyone for sending their love and concerns while Callie was under the weather. We are all very happy to return to our normal happy lives, Happy Monday everyone!!
